I have a 03 Ram with the stock 20" rims on it. Two days ago I noticed my tire was losing air. So I checked for a tire leak. Come to find out I have a crack on the inside of the rim right up to the bead. Its a hairline crack that runs from the bead about an inch into the rim. I called a factory that reconditions rims and they wont fix it since its close to the bead. But they want $454 for a rim to replace it. I found a guy that I know that can weld aluminum. Would that be a smart thing to do or does anyone know another idea? I can find used rims but really not in the market to buy one, since I just bought the truck 2 months ago. Any help would be appreciated!
