Default Stock 2011 Ram 17in Wheel question

Okay, maybe I am just dumb with this one and I have searched extensively for a definitive answer to this one. I have a 2011 RAM SLT 4x4 with 17 inch wheels. I have read that the width is 7 inches and I have read 8 inches. I have looked on various websites at OEM wheels and midwest wheel and tire indicate that the wheels I have are 17x8s but I have seen a lot more forum posts saying they only come with 17x7s.

I took a ruler to the wheel, between the spokes with the tires still mounted and it appears to be 8 inches, but I have no idea if this is even the correct way to measure the width. I am a relative new comer to the whole thing and I am still learning. If anyone has a bit of insight for a newbie, I would love to know if they are actually 17x8s or not.

Maybe I am just dumb.

Thanks. I suppose, let the flaming commence because I am sure someone else will be able to point me straight to a thread that answers this question.

Look at your driver side door jam as there should be a sticker with that information. Mine states 17X7. I have read that the stock offset is +25.
