Default Need to know tire size

Howdy ya'll, new to the forum. I've got a 1976 dodge D100 adventurer that needs new tires BADLY! So I'm finally getting new tires this week but I want to know what the largest size tires I can fit on it with out having any steering rub or clearance issues. And it is stock all the way around so no lift. Also one of the reasons I want to go bigger is because my gear ratio is too tall. I'm hitting over 3,000 rpms on highway doing 70. I want to bring that down so I figured bigger tires=more top end. Also I might not get stuck as easy when I occasionally have to get a little muddy.

Might take a trip to your local friendly tire dealer and ask them.
