Tire debate
Well, i'm in the market for new tires and i've been doing some homework. Here's what i've found out;
1) Truck tires are friggin expensive!!! Most of you already knew that though.
2) I've narrowed it down to the Revo's or the Wrangler Silent Armours. Most of my driving is on the street with the occasional foray into light dirt (IE camping and stuff) or light snow (IE going home to NY or the mountains of NC to ski or tubing). I don't want anything too noisy but I do like the butch look and I don't really need a full on mudder/dirt tire.
3) For the price of a full set of quality truck tires, a full set of 20's with tires don't really seem like that much of a stretch. I'm being quoted approximately $750 for a set of 265 70R 16's and i've seen advertisements for a full set of 20's with tires for between 1 and 1.5K. Also, I'm considering getting 16" wheels instead of 20's but most of the sites i've visited don't list 16's for Durangos. I know 20+ inch tires are popular now but what's the deal with the lack of truck 16's offered on the web?
4) After doing some research on the web I determined that the size tires that are on my D are the stock optional size 265 70R 16's. Neither of the places that I got quotes from locally had that size listed for a 2003 Durango. Also, I was considering getting 285's instead but both places seemed hell bent on talking me out of the larger more expensive size.
So, that brings me to you guys with a host of newb questions.
1) Any other tire suggestions besides the ones listed and the All Terrain T/A KO's?
2) Are 265 70R 16's the stock optional size on 2003 D and can I get 285's on the stock wheel? Would the larger size be worth the effort?
Thanks for any help in advance

If you like the All-terrain type tires, you may want to stay with the 16's, since most 20" tires are more designed for the street. The 245's would work, although your speedometer would probably read high by a couple %. I wouldn't mess with the 285's unless you were really dedicated to that size, since you might run into issues fitting them on the truck and they seem to be less common.
Hi. My original BF Goodrich tires on my Dodge Ram are coming to the end of their tread life so I am in the market for some new tires. On the rear I have 275/60/17 and on the front I have 255/60/17. I have been trying to find some tires manufactured in USA and having a lot of trouble locating anything. Does anybody know if Goodyear still manufacture in the USA, or any other tire manufactured in USA still? I want to support american workers. Thanks, Glenn.
