Default question ?? on tires for Dakota sport on 15x8 wheels ...

Anyone have pics of how far 275 60 tires stick out? Trying to figure out if they will fit ok or look bad wihout fender flares. Any help on this? Thanks

Tire Rack usually recommends 235's 255's for that Dakota. Those 275's may need flares. They're also a little taller. Anybody have an experience trying this? If so, what wheel width and offset did you use?

stock they have 255 65 on there, but the 275 60 are the same height. I was even considering 275x60 in back and 235 x 70 in front. That would match heigth wise and give me a skinnier tire in front. If I went with 255 60 15 instead of 255 65 15 (stock size), the overall tire height would go from 28.05" to 27.05". Would this cause problems with my truck besides the speedo being off 2-3 mph at 60? Seems like this may make it feel a little quicker by effectively changing the rear end from 3.55 to 3.68.

ah, I think I must have looked at the wrong model year for the sizing. But yeah, if you go shorter diameter, you'll essentially get lower gearing. So like a shorter rear end, you are running more rpm at a given speed (maybe use a little more gas) but nothing disastrous with a difference like that. Still waiting for pictures from someone who tried the 275s...
