wheel size and backspacing

ok here goes..... i have a 2000 ram 2500 4in lift 4wd currently i have 315/75/16 's on it with the stock rims... they didnt wear very well so im gonna buy new wheels, I heard a wider wheel makes a difference.... so which width and what backspacing do i need... thanks for your help...[8D]

Those tires probably do best on an 8.5" wheel, although anything from 8-10 is OK according to the tire makers. I don't have a list of all backspacing that works, but I know right around 5.5" works. 30 offset with an 8" width comes out to 5 and 5/8ths, which is a wheel that I have that works.
