Default New tire fit and load range question

I'm currently running Trailrider Radial AT LT 265/75R16 that are labeled 112/109R Load range C M+S.

I'd like to get some pro comp AT 265/75R16's. Is the rim size the only thing I need to look at for fit on this tire?

Also, The pro comps I find have a load range of D or E - what does this mean and what does it affect (tire pressure, tread wear, handling etc)?

Thanks-

Default RE: New tire fit and load range question

Since the size 265/75R16 is the same, the only difference is the D or E load rating. The higher load rated tires carry more weight, are heavier, accept higher air pressure, and ride more firmly than lower rated tires. The farther through the alphabet you go, the higher the load rating. C, D, and E are the most common, F and G appear in some commercial duty tires. You'll also see those referred to 6 Ply rated or 8 ply rated etc. C is 6, D is 8, E is 10 etc. These are just load ratings, and no longer reflect how many actual plies are in the tire.
