Default 15" wheels on 2004 Dakota 4x4

I'm brand new to the forum, but a long time dodge dakota owner. I posted this to the 2nd gen list and got a couple of quick replies, but not a definitive answer yet.

I recently wrecked and totalled a 2000 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 SLT. A week before the accident I had just removed the oem 15"x8" 6 lug aluminum wheels from the 2000 and put on my steel winter wheels and tires.

Just purchased a 2004 Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 Sport. My 2004 comes with stock 16x8 6 bolt wheels with 245/70 R16 tires. dodge had an optional 265/70 R16 tire available on the 2004. I'd really like to use my 15" wheels because i put new 265/75R15 on them last spring. I know i'll have no problems with the overall tire size, as they are virtually identical. Bolt patterns are also both 6 on 4.5".

Does anyone know if my 15" oem alum rims will fit on a 2004? I have read that the 2004 moved to disks all around which may be larger than the original drums (i had rear drums on the 2000). so will the 15" wheels fit over the brakes? I get the 2004 later this week, so can test fit myself, but would like to be sure that this combination has worked for someone else. thanks. bryan
