I need to know what the widest tire i can fit on a stock dakota r/t rim (17x9in) rim..

Ive been told 295 and 275 which is it?

 

u can for sure fit 275s.my friends got 275s on his 17x8 rim(biggest he could go). for th 17x9 i heard u can go 285s but not sure about 295s. r u tryin to go th same all around or just wider out back?

 

All the 1st Generation Durango R/T's have the 17x9 rims and 275/60/17 sized OEM goodyear tires.

Been looking at alternative size tires and I can tell you it is very difficult to find any size tire wider than 275. Widest I seen is 286/60/17 or 285/55/17. I cannot remember who made it but it was not cheap either.
