Default 2006 Grand Caravan with TPMS

I want to put snow tires on my Caravan in the winter time (next fall), but I'm not sure what the implications of the TPMS are. Do I need special rims? Do I have to do anything special if I buy a second set of winter tires? Do I have to go to the dealer every time I switch tires?

if you get a set of tires on rimes then when winter come just bolt them on (as long as they have been balanced)

The Grand Caravan has sensors mounted behind the valve stems, inside the tire. If you get new wheels without sensors and bolt them on, you will get the "low tire pressure" warning. If you transfer the existing sensors to the new wheels they will work as normal. Most new alloy wheels will accept sensors, but some do not. Many steel wheels do not accept sensors. If you get new sensors with the new wheels, you'll probably have to "train" the car to recognize the sensors (see your owners manual for details on that).
