Some old galvanized metal strips lying around in the garage were used to secure the board to rear panel.

Used some attic Insulation from Home Depot and 3M adhesive spray to add a better heat barrier to the rear panel.

Started Working on the car audio today. The original system is a factory radio and blown front speakers. There’s no sound coming from the rear, assuming blown speakers or bad wiring. The goal is to install a Kenwood amp, power cables etc pulled from pick a part a few months back. My plan is to mount the amp and a Tripp Lite Power Inverter on the rear panel.

Found the issue for the rear, bags of padding instead of speakers. No wires are there, but I will run some 18 gauge wire.

Here’s the problem with the rear speakers. There are bags of padding instead of speakers. There’s no wires either. Will run some 18 gauge to rear speakers.

Today I started working on the car audio. The truck has a stock radio, and had blown front speakers. There’s no rear speakers or they are totally blown. I picked up an old Kenwood Amp during a pick a part run and a set of RCA, power, and ground wires. My intent to mount the amp and a Tripp Lite Power investor on the rear panel.

Ran 18 gauge and power to the rear. I still need to run power and ground for the inverter.

Used some galvanized steel lying around in the garage and the existing holes for the shelf inserts for the mounting brackets.

Started doing the stereo install today. Goal is to mount the amp and a Tripp Lite Inverter on the back panel of the cab, and add speakers in the rear. The original set up only had damaged 6 by 9’ and no wires or speakers running to the rear.

Now the surprise, taking the dash out there was a dead rat inside the dash. No joke. It must have been there for years as it looked was dry as a bone, but grabbing the lot described above for 275.00 bucks made it worth it.

So if you can imagine it, this donor was a complete driver two hours before. Grabbed the dash, steering column (had a leather wheel in good shape and mine is crap), seat foam both driver and passenger in good shape, complete doors, inside molding, under the seat cup holder, grill, tail lights, an old Kenwood Amp.

Picked these up today from Escondido Plating. Highly recommend them for anyone here in SoCal. The owner is a good old salt, and so is his crew. True professionals. The haze is the soda used to neutralize the acid after it’s dipped. Was going to bead blast them, but a painter friend recommended stripping. The nickel is still left, but the primer should stick just fine.

Test for for the Gen 4 bumper swap. I am going to color match both front and rear bumpers with the 1H5 code Toyota Cement Gray. My one regret was going cheap on the brackets. I bought the 30.00 ones you see on Amazon/EBay and got what I paid for. The holes lined up perfect on bumper, but will need to modify the frame mounting. So far it’s working, but I am not happy with it.

Got this back yesterday, if you need a good dustless guy in Riverside, Kevin and Mike are both good guys. Mike knocked this out in 30 minutes both inside and out. A coat of epoxy primer and it will be color matched with the trucks final coat. My goal is too bring life out of old used parts.

Picked up an old tool box off Craigslist for 40.00...A lot of surface rust, but structurally in good shape.
