Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
I bought my 91 R/T TT back in August of '07 from a private party near Savanna, GA. It had 122,625 miles on it at the time, but needed its fair share of work right from the start. To begin, both window regulators were damaged to the point where they stopped working altogether after about four or five hours after leaving GA. The A/C didn't work nor did the radio/receiver, so all I had to listen to was the sound of the engine and turbos building boost. The rest of the drive went uneventful until I hit IN, IL, and southern WI during one of the worst floods throughout those three states. Let's just say the car handled amazingly well with Z-rated summer/rain tires and the AWD system really kept it planted to the road. Once home, I got to work getting the paint brought back from the dead. The hood and rear hatch/spoiler were all covered in a white haze from never being maintained properly. After ~$80 worth of Mothers and Meguiar's paint products, the paint has its luster back and looks alright for now (previous owner had it painted by a Maaco shop). A year and a couple months later, I've gotten it to the point where the radio now functions, both doors have had better-than-new window regulators installed along with nearly mint window/door lock switches, and a bunch of other new parts (~$1,500 worth). It hasn't been cheap, but it's being rebuilt the proper way and only continues to be more enjoyable with each new fix. I plan on getting the entire suspension rebuilt this upcoming summer, but first have to complete my final semester of college over in Europe. Read more ยป
