Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
The first vehicle I purchased new from a dealer that wasn't a motorcycle, ATV or other powersports vehicle was my Ram Quad Cab. Bought it in September of 2002 and was able to take advantage of Chrysler's 0% financing that they were offering on the '02 models.
Prior to buying the Ram, the family and I rented a few trucks for camping trips to decide which I liked better. From Enterprise Rental, we rented a Chevy 1500 with the little midget back doors that opened the wrong way; a Ford F150 extended cab; then the Ram 1500 Quad Cab. The comparison was so simple that as soon as I picked up the truck from Enterprise for our camping trip I knew which truck I was going to buy. The Ram was so beautiful and the interior size was immense in comparison to the others. I didn't care that it ate up more gas going to the same camping location - I was sold. The comments and looks that we received from people while driving it were amazing. The rental truck just happened to be black.
When buying time came, I went to the dealer set on buying the Granite Grey color truck, but when I saw one I knew that it wasn't the right color for me (not as dark as the catalog looked). I decided that I was going to buy what turned out to be the best color offered by Dodge, BLACK.
I had my local dealer locate a black, 4x4, SLT, Quad Cab that just happened to be the 2 tone with silver lower. I have always been grateful that the truck we found was a 2 tone as I do prefer it to the solid black trucks I see. They had it transported to my local dealer where I had undercoating applied and Line-X sprayed into the bed - all added to my 0% financing.
I have always loved the look and feel of my Ram, but it has had a few 'first model year issues' I'll call them. Under my 7/70,000 extended warranty, the transfer case had to be replaced (seized and would not engage 4x4) as did the rear end when the carrier bearing fell apart. That extended warranty was the best $999 I ever spent - also on my 0% financing.
