1956 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer
Engine- V8 315 cu. Super Red Ram (5.2L)

The story .
In 1989 my wife and I lived at 1249 McGavock Pike in Nashville, Tennessee. We were good friends with our surrounding neighbors and looked after each other when needed. We were especially fond of Marguerite Ezell,
our neighbor on the west side of our home who was in her late seventies and struggling with cancer. My wife and I took care of her house and lawn when she needed help, and were there if she needed a ride to the market or doctor. Unfortunately, she lost her fight with cancer and passed away in the spring of 1995.
Marguerite had a niece Nancy who was administrating the estate sale of the property and invited all family and friends to view the items that were being presented in the sale before opening the sale up to the public. My wife and I were invited as well, and we felt honored. When you walked into Marguerites home, it was like walking back in time to 1955. From the furniture to the pictures on the wall, even the wood floors and décor, it was 1955.
As we looked at all the items up for sale, I noticed some old record albums and started thumbing through them. It was obvious Marguerite loved The Lawrence Welk Show by the number of albums she had. When I turned over one of the albums to look at the other side, there stood Lawrence Welk up against this 1956 Dodge. As I was looking at the album, Nancy tapped me on the shoulder and said you know that car is in the shed out back. When we saw the car for the first time, my wife and I instantly felt it was meant to be. The next day we drove the car into our garage, and we have had it ever since.
