Description:
A/C not cold enough for you? Try this out. You can use a valve like I did, or put in a plug/cap to stop hot coolant flow to the heater core. It will help.

Here I've clamped the heater core hoses, wrapped my a/c line in a towel (to prevent me accidentally cutting it), placed a towel below and cut the hoses. Valve is partially installed.

A closer shot of the valve partially installed. Make sure you get the flow right if you install a valve, or the heat won't work when you want it to...

At last, the Four Seasons p/n 74809 installed in my truck. You don't have to get a valve like this; it was what I could find that fit. Neither Lowe's or Home Depot had the right size plug for the heater hoses, so I went this route. I did have to tie wrap the vacuum valve closed for it to shut off coolant flow.

Here it is installed, with the tie wrap in place. I do cut the tie wrap sometime in the fall, as it starts getting cooler. One thing you'll notice with this mod, vent air is noticeably cooler also.
