Zip disc up the line but not going through at the top.
Fold the cut piece behind the fender and weld in place.

Lots of small welds to keep the panel from warping.
Grind smoothe and coat with primer and paint. I spayed a wax based rust preventative on the whole thing as well as the painted surface under the flares to keep it from rusting.

About 1.5" of clearance at the front of the opening.
I also moved the back of the opening about 5/8".

The tires rubbed on the frame a bit so I added a simple steering stop.
The sway bar bolt holds a piece of 3/16 flat bar bent up to add 3/16 to the steering stops. Cant tell the difference in turning radius but tires don't rub anymore.
