Many know that the Dakota's came with a seat between the buckets and have removed it for the storage, as was the case when I purchased her in Sept 2011. I have found that a console from a Ford explorer fits in very nicely and color matched as well. However, the console from Explorer held only one drink and I was able to design one for 2 drinks.
Also, when I installed it I decided I'd like a 2,000 watt 110 volt power inverter, mounted under the console. To make it easy to access the inverter, I cut a dove-tail slot in the drink holder to be able to remove it.
