Tell the world a little bit about your vehicle
I drive a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 LARAMIE SLT, 5.9L V8, White and very clean, minimal rust. Unfortunately she is currently in need of some TLC, (I need to replace the PBB). She's not much yet, but that will change. I would rather put the wrench time into fixing her up how I want, rather then going out and finding a vehicle that is already modified and paying for it that way.
This is the first truck that I have ever owned, and I knew that she was my truck as soon as I sat in the driver seat. I've only had her for a year now, but I have some big plans for her. I get a little upset when I have to replace some parts (e.g front axle seals x2), she might get a kick or tool thrown at her, but she takes care of me and I take care of her. If I do kick the bumper or throw a tool at the fender, I bring her out to the parts store after she is all good to go and get her something new to replace (Battery cables, car wash, air filter, fuel injector cleaner, that sort of stuff). I've been unable to carry out my plans to truly make her MY truck due to my decision to go back to school, but they will come in time. She is my truck and I plan on keeping her for a very long time.
Interior/Exterior Modifications:
This is where most of the significant modifications I have done so far are. I had big plans for her when I first bought her a year ago. All modifications I have been able to do are strictly cosmetics.
- Rhino Lining in the bed
- RED L.E.D. lights under the seats and dash, with
toggle switch on the dash to easily turn on/off
- 2 10' Phoenix Gold SubWoofers under back seats
- Replaced all speakers with Rockford Fosgate
Speakers
- 6'X9' 3-Way T1693 in Front Doors
- 5.25' 2-Way T16 in Back Doors
- Kenwood Deck
- 1800W Mono Power Class D Kenwood Amp
- Brand new speaker, power, and ground cables to all speakers and subs
Future Modifications:
I have big plans for my truck in the very near future, just thinking about what I all want to do with her gets me all hot and bothered.
- Rhino Lining along base of body
- HID Headlights
- L.E.D Tail lights
- 17' Black or Matte Black Rims
- Either P285/70R17 Destination Destination A/T
or LT285/70R17 Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac
tires.
- New Bumpers (mine are beginning to warp and
fall off) I have looking at Roadarmor.com and
really like the bumpers that they have to
choose from. I am definitely up for any
suggestions, if anyone has any to offer.
- CB Radio
- More lighting (Fog lights, Off-Road Lights)
- (2'-4') Body Lift with a (3'-5') Suspension lift
- Cold Air Intake (Any Suggestions?)
- Completely New Exhaust System (What are good
brands as far as: Performance, Cost, Sound,
and Availability are concerned?)
- Some sort of performance chip, possibly, I have
never taken the time to actually research
these. All I hear are positive reviews about
throwing a chip in, as I said, never looked up if
this is beneficial or not.
- Tonneau Cover
- A replacement hood, something that really stands
out from other Rams.
- Convert to an anti-slip differential
- Performance parts all around, e.g (fuel system,
brakes, suspension, pulleys, belts, etc.) Read more ยป
