A short video published by the RPM Army YouTube Channel shows the seemingly beat-up old Dodge Ram pictured above take a stab at the quarter-mile run on the drag strip. The slideshow title gives you all the information you need about this raggedy-looking old truck and how it performs running the quarter-mile track.

Unassuming Beast

The coolest thing about this ultra-impressive creation is the fact that, on the street, no one would even look twice at it. And the only part of the exterior that could potentially give the truck away, the tires aren't even extreme enough to stand out. In reality, however, this 1980s Ram can wipe the floor with most modern muscle cars or trucks in terms of acceleration.

10-Second Quarter Mile

There is little information on the truck shared through the video. But what we do know is that the motor is aided by turbocharging. And we also know the unassuming old hauler can record a 10-second quarter-mile with ease. For reference, the newest RAM TRX, powered by a 702-horsepower supercharged Hellcat V8 has an official quarter-mile time of 12.9 seconds.

Faster Than The Fastest Modern Muscle Cars

As a matter of fact, the intentionally rough-looking truck is faster than any Mopar product out of the factory, except for the Challenger Demon. We are curious to find out what sort of internal combustion engine the truck is running. Though we're sure it will have been given a thorough rebuild to be capable of consistent output on the track.
