A Maniac Stuffed a Hellcat Motor into a Ram Pickup

It’s been a few years since Ram built an overly powerful, hard to handle, obnoxious, and cool truck like the old SRT-10 Dodge Ram. Perhaps that’s why this guy just built one himself.

A Ram truck owner from Ontario, Canada gave FCA enough time to figure out whether they’re building a 707-horsepower Hellcat truck or not, but it seems he got tired of waiting. That’s why he reached out to master technician Kevin Byrnes at his local dealership, and arranged for him to help locate a stand-alone Hellcat powertrain, and then install the darn thing.

Not a whole lot of details were shared about this swap on the SRT Life enthusiast site where these photos were originally posted, such as dyno tests, real-world tests etc. I’d be curious to know what other modifications had to be made in order for the truck to handle the extra power with enough composure to be able to drive it on public roads … if that’s even possible.

Other playful prototypes have surfaced this year, such as the Trailcat Jeep Wrangler, which is an off-road Jeep powered by a Hellcat engine, and even a Trackhawk, which is supposed to be a Hellcat-powered Jeep Grand Cherokee.

I’m curious to see what kind of news follows this particular story, though. What about you?
