So the only reason my 92 dakota has way more ***** than my 94 is the exhaust?

Everything I've read says you can't even tell the difference between the smaller and larger exhaust b/c the torque curve was moved down the RPM range. At this point in their lives, engine and transmission condition have more to do with performance than original manufacturer specs.

Yes.

Depending on you "butt dyno" sensitivity you may or may not feel it. The advertised horsepower and torque specs from Chrysler say otherwise.

Well **** man, my 92 has a park band or some thing slipped and doesn't like shifting outta second but damn is she peppy as hell. So I dot think it would do much with the tranny cause mines a little pooched while my 94 is in immaculate condition just kinda gutless I guess we'll not like I feel like it should have

I have a customer with a '94 Dakota like mine and his feels pretty gutless. Granted comparing his '94 with a 5.2 to mine with a 5.9 with the kegger mod, e-fan, '92-'93 exhaust manifolds and y-pipe, and larger throttle body is like comparing apple to oranges but you'd think a V-8 would feel better than his stock '94 does.

Considering that 10hp is probably more like 7hp at the wheels I doubt most people would notice it, let alone consider one to smoke the other. Are the two trucks exactly mechanically identical otherwise? 4x4 vs 2wd, rear diff ratio, tire size, engine condition, etc would probably play a bigger roll.

I recently dyno-tuned my turbo-charged '88 Caravan and picked up 22 hp and 38 ft/lbs of torque. I could not tell the difference other than the graph of before and after.

what and where the hell is a thermal sensor?
