Hey fellas, looking for a bit of help before I spend the big bucks on attempting the fix on my beauty. My maintenance required light came on after an oil change as I pulled out, so I didn't think anything of it. A month later, I'm in a traffic jam and get q chance to pull into an exit, a have it a little bit of gas to avoid incoming traffic. When I pushed the petal I hear a " BOOMF " and I lungev forward from going 15mph to 35mph, afterwards I cannot continue driving in 1st or 2nd gear, only the reverse gear works. I would have to assume this is the transmission, but I'd like any pointers on how to go about this, or anyone's same experience.

Your maintenance required light is just that. It's a reminder so it most likely had nothing to do with you trans. What trans do you have? 727 was standard and the overdrive A500 was an option. look underneath it and see if you see anything out of the norm. If not you may want to drop the pan and take a look inside.

Well that is one small relief regarding the light, I've been beating myself up thinking I should have just taken it in. ( even though I should have ) and regarding the tranny, I couldn't find the model in any of my booklets and manuals, so after the rain let's up I'll get under there and get the number off of it.
