Dude don't get a third gen. You have a sweet 2nd gen. And probably the nicest 4.7 2nd gen on here. You just put in HO cams and a hemifever tune. She must rip now.

I was actually going to ask you what kind of paint you used on your wheels and how it is holding up. I would like to paint mine black sometime.

With all of the money that you have already put into your truck, with maintence and mods, you would be money ahead just keeping yours, fixing it and enjoying it.

Lol. Yeah, it only does it when its cold; Im hoping its just the check valve for the torque converter. Worst case senario, its going to be $2100 to rebuild it. Life goes on I guess.

Im never going to pay 2100 for a rebuild on a auto. I can spend half of that with a little work and have a 5 speed put in. Thats why I dont care if mine goes lol

Thunder you know you dont wanna sell it, currently you are having some bad luck but look at it this way you have had the truck for X amount of miles so you know whats its been threw and whats all been done to it where as if you get a newer used truck you might be faced with the same problems down the road. Plus its a 3rd gen no offense out there, everybody likes there own style there are some good looking ones on this forum tho

I liked the G3 just because it was a new body style. The G2s look old to me .... its a body style that was used for a long time. If I could buy my Dakota again, I wouldve went with an 04 though. The aftermarket support is alot better (body kit and accessory wise), the truck is lighter, and its basically the same drivetrain. Im having a hard time finding a roll pan for my truck, the front suspension sucks, and I only weight 300 pounds less than a quad cab Ram with a 4.7l. Everything that I like about my G3 (except for the new body style) can be given in a 2004 G2, and its better if you want to customize it a little. Just my .02.
