Default AC/Heat problems

My AC and best both work but air only blows out of the defroster and at my feet no matter which setting I have it on. Any thoughts on how to fix this?

Check for vacuum to the control head - I'm assuming it's 2000 or older. The system defaults to defrost with no vacuum.

There is a check valve under the hood usually near the brake booster that may have failed shut, like in the picture.
