Yea I know , everyone says that but I'm up for the challenge and I'll be the only one in my area to have a one of a kind dakota like what I'm wanting, the hardest part is finding all of me parts I need :/

Don't forget, you're going to need to add some reinforcement on your frame. It's not up to handling the weight and torque of a 5.9 diesel in stock form.

from the small amount of research if done in the past,i don't think a 5.9 cummins will fit in a Dakota without moving the whole firewall back,i know theres a smaller diesel engine ive seen fit,and this is what ive seen done..

A 4BT is a pretty popular swap and fits a lot better. That's probably what you're thinking of.
