Default OEM tire / wheel size vs. alternatives for 2000 4.7L SLT plus with 3.92

I have a 2000, Club Cab SLT plus truck with the 4.7L engine and 3.92 axle.

i am trying to get new tires and am confused. The window sticker says that OEM size is 255/65 R15 x8" wide rim. The sticker in the door says 215/75 r15 x 7" wide. I currently have 255/70 R15 tires on the vehicle.

No one seems to be able to confirm if 255/65r15 even exists so was this a typo on the window sticker? Any idea what the actual OEM eqipment was so that I can try and get something close and not have to adjust the speedometer?

Any suggestions for alternatives?

THX

255/65/15 = 28.0"

215/75/15 = 27.70"

I'd stick to the former.

The base truck came with 215/75R15's, even the SLT and Sport models.

255/65R15 came with the Tire and Handling Group.

You might have to order them but they do exist or do like Magnet suggests.
