Unless it's cheap, don't do it. How much are you looking to spend?

I still say they're great engines. They have a water tray flaw under the wipers and the bolts on the intake manifold are prone to letting water in. If you suck in water with any engine, you'll get similar results. The key is to prevent that scenario and that's what I do with the Durango chassis that I use in my projects. Better power, better exhaust note and an iconic badge. Anyone that thinks "all 04 hemi's are bad", just doesn't understand engines. I beat the living snot out of these things once I go through them. They're wicked strong.

i know this is late to post, but I have an 04 with the Hemi. I have had no issues with this vehicle. until recently I never heard of an issue with the cowling. Cheap fix was a little RTV for now until I can get a new cowl. Engine, Transmission, and the rest of the drive train has been solid. Been keeping up with the routine maintenance and she had been good to me. so I am not sure why the 04 gets a bad rap.
