2000 Dodge Neon Rev Limiter Problem
Hey everyone,
I currently own a 2000 Dodge Neon and with in the past 2 weeks I have had my Valve cover gasket and the spark plug cylinder gaskets replaced. Those are working fine and no problems, but my car is an automatic SOHC 2.0L engine and it is hitting the rev limiter at low rpm. I can not tell where exactly because I do not have a Tachometer to show me where its hitting it at. I have done as much research as i can and checked my error codes and nothing out of the normal there. The only thing I can think is when my valve cover gasket was bad my car hit rev limiter in every gear way before it should, but now it is only in first gear when it happens. Could this be that my car needs a tune to increase where rev limiter is and if not what might the problem be?

I'm not purposely taking it to it. I have seen the limit on my car in all three gears because it is an automatic and the rev limiter shouldn't kick in until after 50mph in first gear. I am guessing it is hitting it in 3500spm range when it should be hitting in 6500rpm range. So I don't understand why it's hitting it in such low rpm compared to when it came out the factory.
