Nice. I'll be completely honest basic really messed with my head and to this day I have issues with being in the air force and how things are run. I hate every minute of it. Hopefully the OP will have a better experience than me.
Dang, how did it mess with you that much? I already have an issue with people acting like complete idiots, but thts gonna be anywhere, military or not, and the hurry up and wait policy is extremely extremly annoying, seems like thts the majority of what ive had to do in my short military career so far lol

I dunno man I just don't think I'm cut out for this life. Oh well I'm here so I try to make the best of it. And get used to the morons. The military is an easy paycheck for lazy pieces of ****.
Yea, well im not into this journey very far yet, but im thinking im gonna be the same way you are. There are so many just plain lazy people here, it really reminds me of high school all over again, i thought i was moving forward in life but as of now it seems like im back in school again. Hopefully it gets better.

Don't plan on hating it! Because then you will for sure! Some people adjust well and enjoy it. Hopefully you will too. But yea, I have made the same observation about how it attracts people who don't want to leave high school on numerous occasions.
The service is all what you make it. If you want it to suck, the higher ups will most assuredly accommodate you. On the other hand, if you want to make the most of it, that isn't too hard either.
Keep a good attitude, and it will be a good experience. Do your best, and it can mean good things will happen.
If you walk around with a chip on your shoulder, you will get volun-told for every crap detail there is.
Good luck, and have fun. The military is something I think everyone should experience.
