torque converter question for my 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 4 wheel drive
So i've had my 98 just under a month. And i had a friend put his obd2 tester on my truck ( its one that is ran though his phone) my obd2 tester dident bring up what his did. It said i had a transmission torque converter code somthing about shift points or somthin. I do know when ur going down the road and u get into it like ur going to pass. It will down shift kinda weird like. And if ur almost to the floor "not all the way to the floor".the tac is around 4400 and all the sudden it reves out all the way and almost stops in the middle of the road. I let off and get back into it. It will work after that. Idk i confused and wanna make it a good truck help please. Thanks justin

The governor, and pressure sensor are all electronic on your trans. The stock pressure sensor is notorious for failing at large throttle openings. (it simply stops reading correctly.....) It will work fine for 'normal' driving though. Usually this translates to higher than expected shift points, or, having to back off the gas a bit to get it to shift.
You *might* be able to at least reduce the issues by installing the Borg Warner heavy duty governor pressure solenoid. Get the set that also includes the pressure sensor. (available off ebay for around 100 bucks.) Change the fluid and filter while you are in there.
