Default Tires with varying life left

I am looking at getting some used BFG All Terrain TA's - 2 have 65% left, one has 50% and one has 40%. I figured I would put the two with 65% on the rear. Will there be any poor side effects of running tires with varying tread depth? Steering wise, or braking? I am getting them for the summer to save my Wilderness M/T for the winter, oh and they are cheap. Thanks!

It may pull to the side. I would avoid BFG's thought. The AT/KO tires do not have good traction on pavement, especially in the rain.

Run the 65% tread's in the front, run the 50% on the right side rear, 40% on the left side rear. If you have an open differencial, you will wear down that 50% eventually on the right side and when the get equal, swap teh 65% to the back and then your 40% to the front. That's what I'd suggest at least. That is how I have mine set up right now at least. I'm just waiting for the right side to wear down to match the left now.

Running uneven tires is hard on the 4wd.
Be careful and watch out for excessive noise when in 4wd.
