Default Dash lights won't turn off

New to the board....

I have a 1995 Ram 3500 Dually and I have encountered a few problems.

The main one is that my dash lights won't turn off when I turn of my headlights/driving lights.

I have to dim the dash lights in order for them to go off. They stay on when I push the headlight **** all the way in...they are even on after I turn off my truck.

I replaced the headlight switch and still no change.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

You have a short somewhere. Check the wiring right behind the headlight switch, they like to melt there....
