Default Auto Transmission Problem

I adjusted the external linkage on the transmission on my 94 Dodge that has the over drive tansmission and is driven by a 318 motor. At first it would go into park kind of hard and started not to engage at all and now is in reverse when I park it. I replaced all of the busing, checked the adjustment and took the rod off of the side of the transmission lever and it is in it furthest limit to catch park and put the rod back inn. My question is there an adjustment inside the case that has loosened or do I have something bent in there that Will not engage the parking paw.

Thanks

Emmett

Put the shifter, and trans both in neutral, and adjust the linkage accordingly. Should take care of it.

You did not read the post, you can take the linkage off of the transmission and use your hand to put the trans in park and it will not lock the trans in park. Anyone else?

Time to drop the pan, and have a look, see what's going on in there.

It's hard to do by hand. I would get the linkage adjusted correctly then see. There is an adjustment for the park rod(inside).
