Did you fuse the positive going to the switch (at the switch or between it and the relay. Best before the switch though)
Your lighted switch may not be working because your power "in" and power "out" are reversed. And/or you didn't ground the switch.


Also, just for grins, when I am wiring up something with a relay I...
Run positive to the switching (coil) side of the relay
Run the other switching (coil) side of the relay to the switch inside the cab, then from the switch to a ground in the cab
This way you only need to run one wire through the firewall AND if it gets nicked/damaged the worst that will happen is that it will short to ground (and just turn on your relay and aux device)

im gonna pull the radio out again today and get in there with a multimeter to see if the harness is getting any power through it or not.

Turns out it was a ground coming from the relay i had to re splice it because i guess i crimped it to tight and i found a better place to ground the switch but now it works but kind flickers a bit, not bad but enough for me to notice. any ideas on that?

Bad connection somewhere. Might check any other grounds.
