wear ! I built it almost 3 yrs ago and the pinion preload is still tight but i think the backlash backed off somehow ?

That would probably do it. I don't think I have never seen gears worn out..... I have seen them blown into a billion little pieces though.

ring gear is kinda wore on the edge of teeth but the pinion is just crazy worn ?

Either bad initial setup, or, something slipped. Need to be changed though.... Cheaper to do it BEFORE they actually break.

oh i pulled axles yesterday and cover so it needs to be fixed now ! Gonna order parts today and build it next weekend !

How much pinion preload do you guys set it at with seal ?

20 to 25 ( inch pounds will be good) they also make a spacer with a shim kit to replace the crush sleeve on the 9.25, its very nice because if you ever have to take it back apart, you wont need to buy another crush sleeve, basically just torque the nut back down and you'll have the same preload on the bearing...
