Default Is it the Wheel bearing or the brakes?

I have 2006 3.7L 2WD dakota with 129,XXX miles on it. In the past 1500 miles or so I have had this sound come and gofrom the front left wheel area. I dont know if its the wheel bearing or the brakes. Its it definitely relative to the speed of the truck. It seems to make more noise with turns under speed and lastly applying the brakes can make the noise quieter or even stop while pressing the brakes.

Does it make noise at low speed or only start at higher speed?
Did you have that wheel off recently before the time when you started noticing the noise?
If so, were the wheel nuts re torqued after 100 km's? Try re torquing the wheel nuts to see if that is the issue. (if it is you will notice one nut is loose)
Good Luck

Drive it for a good while ~ 30-45 min. Stop and then put your had on your rim. If either side is much hotter than the other then it's that sides wheel bearing/hub. Keep your nose ready for a somethings burning smell.

If both sides are about the same then check your brakes. If those are good it could be your ball joints or tie rods.

bearing noises typically growl. unload and load the bearing by doing a highway speed lane change left and then right. if the noise changes loudness, the bearing is loaded and unloaded, its the bearing.

perform a suspension check of the bearing. jack up the truck by the frame and check for play by moving the tire at the 12 and 6 position....there should be no movement from the bearing if its a sealed hub bearing assembly.
