I have run both and would have to side with the JBA headers... I can get you either set... but from the sets I have seen the JBA where of better quality.

Also, I would not add headers until you have addressed the true restrictions of your exhaust system.

Your factory "Y" pipe is the single greatest restriction in the system. Make sure you address that with a HIGH FLOW "Y" pipe. I would go from the factory primary tubes (2.25") to the "Y" and merge that into a SINGLE 3" system useing a SINGLE 3" CAT & HIGH FLOW MUFFLER. After you have completed that set up you will be ready for headers. But until then your headers will only flow as much as your greatest restriction will allow. This is why some people claim headers don't work on the 4.7L... because they never address the greater restrictions in the system first.

The stock HEMI trucks put out approximately 250-260RWHP on a DYNO... I have not been to a DYNO lately but I have been to the track... In my opinion the track is a better tale of what your making... the DYNO is a tool used for tuning... the track is used for ACTUAL PERFORMANCE... You either bring it or you dont.

A stock 5.7L HEMI QUAD CAB RAM runs consistent 10.2's /10.3's all day long.

My 4.7L MAGNUM QUAD CAB RAM runs consistent 9.49's all day long.

For those who are into BASIC modifications the Superchips 3815 is a great product. It will work on ALL 1999-2007 4.7L engines...

If your into heavy modifications (Ported heads/Cams/Intakes) then you would be into the SCT tune. Our tuner has the software for the 1999-2002 4.7L engines... We can put you into contact with somone who can tune the 2003-Up 4.7L engines.

So there is hope for the 4.7L engine as far as tuning goes.

DO NOT HAVE YOUR PCM FLASHED! BG CAN NOT TUNE A 4.7L to SAVE HIS LIFE!!!

Trust me, I have already been down that road and still feel the pains he has caused me.

If your plan on ported heads, you need to go with SCT and a Wide Band Data Logger. This would be the quickest and most cost effective way to tune your engine...

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 with the 4.7 its a single cab longbed. I just bouth a camper weighing about 4000 lbs and when towing it I sometimes find my trucks rpms jumping to 6000 to 7000. Any suggestions on how to get more power out of my truck? It has straigt pipe exaust but i dont know if that is helpful or not.

While the heads from the 08 (corsair) 4.7 will bolt on the 07 bottom end, your not gonna get the power that the 08 engine makes unless you swap the pistons too. The pistons are a dome/dish design that is totally different than 07 back. You would be better off to find a used corsair engine out a wreck and just do a swap.

no affense man, im a 4.7 owner too, and your just wasting your money modding a 4.7. i've got an intake, exhaust, and tuner, barely any different. our 4.7 will never be close to a tock 5.7 without a few grand in mods
