Default 06 Mega Cab Tie Rods/Wheel Bearings

Well its official, 56,000 miles and all 4 ball joints and all my tie-rods are shot.

Got a quote for $1600 for lifetime warranty parts. (We all know they won't last forever) $1,200 for parts $350 for labor.

Just curious if you think I am getting a good deal and what maybe some others have paid.

I thought of buying the parts myself and doing it but I haven't done a tear down to this extent and don't have a press for the bearings.

Anyone use XRF Bearings?

Sure wish I got a 1/2 ton now

Thanks guys.

I recently replaced the lower ball joints, upper control arms and front hubs on my 2006 1500 4x4 (I may be wrong but I believe if your MegaCab is 2wd it will have a similar front suspension set up...if it is 4x4 it will have a SFA and will be a different story)

I ordered all the parts online (From Amazon) and paid roughly:
-MOOG lower ball joints- $45 each
-MOOG upper control arms- $75 each
-Timken hubs (wheel bearings)- $130 each

I did not replace the tie rods ends but they would have cost roughly $30 each for outters and $20 each for inners
So total I would have paid about $600 in parts if I would have replaced the tie rod ends also. (This is with all MOOG and Timken parts)
Your total for the Hubs may be a little highter if you have 8 lug hubs.

Advance Auto will "loan" you a ball joint press that makes pressing ball the ball joints in/out very easy.

Thanks bud. I do have the 4x4 and the Heavy Duty (3/4 Ton) chassis. Its amazing how much the price goes up from the 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton components.

Well have 30k miles.... 3 out of the 4 Ball Joints are shot again. Thank god for Moog Lifetime parts. Tie Rods and Drag Links are still good... just the ball joints.

Noticed the front end getting a bit loose and a couple expansion joints on the freeway with Death Wobble took her back in.

About had it with the Mega Cab.......
