Default Water Pump

Just replaced the water pump in my 01 5.9. Started it and there was a couple drips hitting the ground of coolant. Once the truck warmed up it started pouring out. I went back checked all the bolts. On bottom left hand side of the water pump there was a loose bolt. So I tightened it and right as it felt like it was starting to get tight it would all the sudden get loose again. Any tips, tricks, or suggestions?

Sounds like the bolt stripped or snapped off. Time for the EZ-Out or a heli-coil and some choice words.

Threads in the timing cover are stripped. You will have to tear it back down and repair the threads.

Got the water pump back off and where the bolt goes there is some had cracking. Will a heli coil still work?

Use something stronger than a helicoil.
