Smile 04 ram 1500 issue

hi all,

have a 2004 1500 4door 5.7. 2 codes came up p0171 and p0174.

seems to be a lot of dif things that can cause this.

the truck if you push the accelerator slowly will get up to speed with no problems. However, if you punch it you get about 2k rpm and really wont accelerate or shift. It has some hesitation from a stop and on occasion wont hardly move like its out of fuel even tho it never completely stalls out.

if I shut the key off and restart it that will usually get me going again.

any ideas?

thanks

Since you are getting a "lean code" for both banks, I'd say it's not bad O2 sensors. Rare for both sides to fail at the same time.

Sooo, I'd be looking at the problems which would cause a lean state. Vacuum leak, PCV system dirty, leaking, failing or possibly a weak/failing fuel pump...
