I have a 2005 Ram 2500 Cummins. Automatic trans. 171,000 miles on the truck. Got up this morning and on my way to work, my tranny was acting horrible. It hesitates to shift out of 1st but will shift at around 2800-3000 rpm. It will shift from 1st to 3rd and will not shift higher than that. Took it in and had it diagnosed by AAMCO. They say it is shifting from 1st to 3rd. No 2nd gear, no 4th gear, no Over Drive, and the temp sensor are bad. They say the bands are shot.

I am moving from Portland, OR to Anchorage Ak in 2.5 weeks. I will be towing a boat. The combined boat and trailer weigh about 10,000lbs.

I am wondering what the best course of action is. Is it worth rebuilding or is there a good company to buy a tranny from. Thank you for all of your help!
