Trans problem

I have a 2003 ram 2500 hemi 4x4 trans is going in limp mode stuck in 3rd I can shut the truck off and restart and it is fine it doesn't do it all the time

What can it be ?

are you using any accessories at the time, like your ac? another thing to check is your solenoid pack, may need replacing
