Default Wiper problems

I have a 2006 dodge ram 1500 with wiper problems, the intermittent on the lowest setting sometimes swipes up to 6 times and also at all the other intermittent settings and then on the regular speeds when you turn them off they stop where ever they are when the switch goes off. My question also: is the intermittent switch built into the motor or is there a separate control module for the wipers?

Thanks I didn't know if there was a separate module that controlled them.

^^ This.

I honestly can't remember when my wipers didn't have a mind of their own. Some have indicated this as a temporary fix and have needed to replace the motor, but up to you if you want to try the cheap fix first, or just squash the problem for certain the first time out.
