Default 2011 Ram Cummins 6.7L

I have had my 2011 Ram Big Horn with Cummins 6.7 for a little over two months.
It is all stock.
I'm getting 18-19 in town and 20-21 on hwy unloaded.
I do use cruise control as much as I can.

Too funny . . LOL . .
The terms "POWER WAGON" and "FUEL ECONOMY" have no business being used in the same post!

Default 2012 Ram

Looking at a 2012 ram 2500 4x4 mega cab with a 5.7 hemi what's everyone's take on it ? I own a 01 2500 4x4 5.9 diesel looking to upgrade to something nicer so what kind of gas mileage can I expect out of the hemi ? Just trying to get a better idea on what I want to do. THANKS FOR YOUR INPUT!!!! I travel about 20 miles one way to work and usually drive between 65 and 70 . I have a camper I pull bout 6 times a year so I know the millage will less than my 01 any information will really help my decision. THANKS AGAIN! !!!

Everybody I know with a Mega Hemi complains about gas mileage. Also, the Mega/Hemi guys with 3.73 gearing complain about the truck being very sluggish until you get rolling on the interstate.

If you wanna go gas and can swing the $$$, 2014s now have the option of the 6.4 Hemi, which pulls that heavy Mega a lot better, plus you get the added fuel economy benefit of MDS. Guys report about 16 mpg real world fuel economy (non towing) which is about 3-4 mpg better than Mega/5.7 guys are reporting.

IMO, if it's the 5.7 look crew/quad cab...

Agree
I have the Mega, 6.4 and the 373's. No plans to,change gearing to loose MPGs. I do ok at 14 city, and up to 18 highway. Just installed at moes 87mmTB and plan to do a hemifever PCM swap. Don't tow, or haul on a any routine basis so the extra. $8k for the CTD was not justified for me at least.

Default Ram 2500 with the 6.4

Who has the new (2018) Ram 2500 with the 6.4l? I have a 2014 Ram 2500 with the Cummins 6.7 and I'm thinking about trading it in. I was told by a few people that the new 6.4 is getting around 20 mpg on the highway but I can't believe it. I can get better than 20 in my truck now (if I keep to the speed limits). I don't pull anything heavier than a 22 foot boat and that's only sometimes during the summer. Does anyone know if the 2018 6.4L can really get around 20 mpg? Thanx

I've seen that. But I'm pretty sure it says the 6.7 also gets pretty low mileage. I want to know what guys that are actually driving them are getting.

I know guys with older 12 valves, that can push 20 mpg without trouble..... and as the technology level of the engine went up, fuel consumption went up also. Exactly the opposite of what happened with gasoline engines. I am real curious what that's all about.....

yeah, I don't tow anything huge so I don't really need the Cummins. If I could get simular mileage and save $0.50 per gallon then I'm going to swap.
