buying help
not sure the best place to post this.
looking at buying either a 3rd or 4th gen Ram 1500 Hemi soon. it will be used as my tow rig/daily driver. looking to spend under $19k; prefer 4wd but considering 2wd as they are cheaper and easier to find and since i have a dedicated 4x4 rig already. reliability and price are my biggest factors (but must be a 4-door and hemi)... around here i am seeing 4th gens with 100k+ miles or 3rd gens with less than 100k miles..
looking for advice on which to go with, for reliability....do not want to spend $15-$19k and it needing repairs soon.

just looked for nearly a month for a 2011 to 2014 RAM (4th gen) and found a lot of Quad cabs on autotrader.com... but I was looking for a crew cab for the bigger leg room of which there were fewer around
most were priced 20-25K with less than 100K for a 1500... I did find a couple of 2500's with 8 foot box in the area, 2011 and 2012 with 96K and 82K both in the 17K asking price range that had been on the lot for awhile...
I settled on a 2014 with 30K miles and some luxury items for $30K and I got the 3.21 gears with 8 speed... I just got back from a 900 mile trip of mostly highway miles and averaged almost 20MPG which makes me really happy...

problem with autotrader is the dealers don't always describe them right... so get the vin and use this website to get the build sheet... just sub your VIN for the one in the URL
