P0302 misfire code. Advice needed!

P0302 Misfire fix
My 2002 Dodge van with a 3.3 motor had a P0302 misfire code. It ran crappy and belched out white smoke that smelled like fuel.
The problems I have read about that cause this:
1-Bad injector
2-Bad wiring issue
3-Bad PCM
4-Bad Plug/wires
5-Bad cylinder
What I did:
1-Replaced fuel injector and cleaned all the injectors. It did not make things work better.
The next step was actually very easy AFTER watching the video with the step by stem process.
Here are the exact steps I took:
1-Watched the video and did the step by step process.
2-I metered the wires at the injector. I metered the 2 wires going to the injector and both wires were showing a ground when using ohms. I checked another injector and the pin closest to where the injector has a latch to hold it in place should be the grounded side. The other wire goes to the PCM and should not show a ground. It seems the wires get hot and start to melt together somewhere in the wiring harness.
3-I cut the wire at the PCM (#17) and cut the LEFT wire at the injector making sure there was enough wire left to connect the new wire to.. That way the bad wire is now isolated from the system. Let me know what code you are getting and I can let you know which wire to cut at the PCM.
4-I ran a new wire from the injector to the PCM wire.
5-I put everything back to normal
Everything runs great now.
Here's the YOUTUBE video that really helped:
Be sure to change oil and filter as the old oil has been saturated with fuel.

I just had the same error code. PO302. I read all the info from any where I could find. I changed my spark plugs about 2 years ago. They weren't the champion ones so I bought a new set and 2 weeks ago changed the one just to check. While there I put the plug on the block and started the engine. I saw spark so that checked out. Last week I watched the video about replacing the fuel injector and did that. Today I used a noid light on the fuel injector plugs and that was good. Did a compression test and that was good. The van still had a misfire and ran rough. Checked the spark plug against the block again and this time saw no spark. I swapped wires around and still no spark. I bought a new coil pack and took the other one out(which was only a year and a half old) and saw a crack on the underside of the coil pack. Replaced it and everything is good. Van is running great. Just wanted to let someone know and thank you all for your help.

2012 grand caravan
So I bought a 2012 caravan in october of 2013. It had roughly 21k and as of today has roughly 69k. Kept up with all schedule maintence. So it started running rough. I have a carMD so ran it and it gave me p0300 and p0302. Also took it to autozone for a reading, same codes. So took it to my mechanic same codes, he replaced spark plug and #2 coil pack, was still running rough because I didn't do the fuel injection cleaning. I got a fuel injection cleaning the next morning. Before the mechanice could get it in the bay my light came back on same codes. So we thought ok, maybe cause the the injectors haven't been flushed.. IDK, my light is still on and now my mechanic is saying #2 cylinder? Wouldnt that have been picked up initally on the machine? So I was charged $523 for tune up and another $129 for fuel injection to still have my car running slightly rough and the light is still on. and now he tells me this cylinder thing and wants to charge $1,700?
My question is should I give it a few day and let the fuel injection do whatever it needs to do? Could that even be the issue. Or is this cylinder thing could be the issue. I just thought the machine would have registered it. Also looked up recalls on engines for grand caravan and my engine isn't listed even thought it's falls between the years for the recall. I just hate feeling like I've been taken advantage of because I'm a woman.....

Sorry to say, but based on what you wrote, you're being ripped off in a big way. IMO you should not give these part-hangers another dime, much less $1700. Find another shop. Ask your friends and co-workes which shop they use, and try to find one that's more capable and honest than this outfit. Unfortunately the $650 you alraady gave them is money down the drain.
