Default 2013 caravan grinding sound when braking

just noticed a few days ago when i stopped at a stop sign, i heard a grinding sound. thought it was the brake pads, but they are fine and the rotors are still good. so idk what it could be. Its only when I'm stopping at a light/stop sign.

Is it right after you start driving? Does it stop after awhile? Moisture accumulates on the rotors and can cause slight surface rust overnight. First time you use the brakes, you hear a gringing as the pads scuff off the surface rust. My car does that.

It's also possible that some grit (small stone/sand) got between the rotors and pads, I've had this happen and it sounds horrible.

I'm assuming you checked pads both inside and outside the rotor?

Have the parking brake checked to see if the shoes have delaminated.
