Default 97 carav 2.4 timing tensioner stripped out!

Changing my timing belt and found that the mount bolt on the tensioner seems to be stripped, don't want to tap to a larger size because the diameter of bolt just fits the tensioner. I was thinking of maybe using a insert or helicoil. What do you folk's suggest? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Default RE: 97 carav 2.4 timing tensioner stripped out!

the bolts hole
is that not part of the oil pump casting?
if the surrounding metal is sound/solid yes i see no problem using a helicoil to repair it
or a thread repair epoxy (permatex) works well used on an outboard motor coil mounting bolt hole
