Unhappy EGR Valve

We replaced the EGR valve in my 05 dodge magnum 5.7 engine. While the EGR valve was DISCONNECTED I tried to start the car, don't ask me why. It didn't start. We put the new EGR valve on and now the car turns over but won't start. It smells like it's flooded. Any suggestions on how to fix this would be appreciated. I should add the car has 230700 miles on it. New Catalytic converter on bank #2, new O2 sensor, upstream and new EGR valve. The car still ran quietly, even with the engine light on. After replacing the cat and egr valve there are no codes coming up.
