Default 2000 Dodge Ram Van 1500 No Bus

I have the no bus message on my odometer. I have read what everyone as said it could be. My 1st question is why the diagonistic scanner won't ready anything? When we plugged it in to the port, it says error, check connections. I was told two different things, it is because of the no bus message and it will not read it do to the no communication with the computer. Then I was told my port was bad. Any ideas?

Either the fuse that powers the port is blown or the PCM is.
I think it shares the fuse with the 12v lighter socket.

When it says check the connections, wiggle the three wire-harness bundles going to the PCM. The scanner will not talk to the PCM if it's not making connection or if the PCM is dead.

The bus circuit is a 5 volt PCI, 2.5 for + and 2.5 for -. If you have more than 2.5 volt on the bus circuit, then the bus circuit goes down. It cold be the PCM or any sensor or modules take the system down. Try unplugging any and all sensors and modules and see if the clucter come back. If not the problem maybe the PCM.

I have a remaned PCM that is 3 months old. Its for a 1999 5.9, not sure if it will work with a 2000. PM me if you are interested.

check out this thread...having the same problem with mine. pushing on the right-most of the 3 pcm plugs seems to "reset" it and your van will start again. (and you'll get gauges and rid of the "no bus" on odometer)
